What do all-girl glam rock groups, Hawaii, and Olympic-style sports competitions have in common?

Nothing. Absolutely nothing.

And, yet, by Satan’s grace (our boy JC definitely didn’t sign off on this one) Jem and the Holograms have combined them all into one steaming pile of nonsense called “Hot Time in Hawaii.”

More like “hot mess in Hawaii,” right? That girl in the back is nodding her head. She gets it.

But back to the episode at hand. Jem and the crew go to Hawaii to compete in some sort of sports competition for musicians (sure, sure, that’s a thing) and the Misfits join in for… reasons. As per usual, the plot is hella thin, more so than usual.

But there are couple saving graces. We see the Misfits ride a surfboard on lava and try to murder Kimber in a volcano. And, of course, our witty commentary!
